Tasks and Responsibilities- Primary mission will be to manage the production of current application
- Hands-on in implementing new datawarehousing capabilities for our current application
- Trouble shoot and problem solve to quickly identify current and potential issues
- Deliver automated database maintenance solutions as well as tools, processes and platforms for troubleshooting and monitoring performance
- Optimization of database systems using a variety of techniques from the physical system level and logical database object level
- Organizing and documenting table and view structures
- Design, documentation, test planning, implementation and configuration for SQL Server 2005 database servers
- Participate in the maintenance, administration, and monitoring of production SQL 2005 servers
- Willing to work on 24x7 on-call schedule
- Minimum travel may be required
Skills and Qualifications - 4-year degree OR equivalent experience
- Experience with large databases preferred
- 5 years hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows 2003 Server
- 3 years hands-on experience with SQL 2005 server as a production database administrator
- 3 years hands-on experience in implementing mirroring and replication solutions to support data reporting and SQL server disaster recovery
- Experience with database design, modeling and implementation of new structures
- Excellent experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and T-SQL
- Experience designing/creating/generating reports with Crystal Reports or SQL Reporting Services
- Experience implementing and maintaining SQL Server on Windows clustering
- Working knowledge of HP EVA SAN product line is highly desirable
- Expertise in troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Excellent verbal and writing communications skills and a strong team player that is dependable
